What Parents are Saying

Physics 11 was a real challenge for our son... He was really struggling, finding it hard to understand the concepts and complete assignments, which led to failing tests. From the very first session with the Mastering Physics Program, everything shifted. Ben demonstrated a remarkable ability to assess our son's learning style and explain physics concepts in an understandable way. Witnessing our son's increasing confidence and decreased frustration has been incredibly rewarding. We highly recommend this course!

Ben is an excellent tutor. He is clear, patient, very skilled, and genuinely engaged. Ben had a way of connecting with my son that helped him focus and build confidence. As a result, my son's understanding improved significantly, and I noticed a shift in his attitude: he began to take more initiative with his schoolwork, and he looked forward to their sessions. Ben is not only a skilled and effective teacher, but also kind and intuitive, with a strong sense of what his students' needs. I’m deeply grateful for the role he played in my son's academic growth.

Both my daughter and I experienced Ben as knowledgeable, kind, and emotionally intelligent. His patience and expertise helped her not only to achieve success in high school but also to build on the skills she learned to thrive in university.

Helping High School Students Master Physics
Hello Parents,
Would you like your child to excel at high school physics? You’re in the right place.
I’m Ben. I studied Math and Physics at UBC and have worked in many teaching roles, including over 15 years as a high school physics tutor. In that time, I’ve learned exactly how students learn — and what they need to succeed.
Why Students Struggle
Many parents watch their child wrestle with physics for months. Poor teaching, unclear communication, and vague expectations leave students frustrated and discouraged.
Too often, I’m called when the semester is already two-thirds over and the situation feels desperate.
My Solution
I love physics, and I love helping students excel. That’s why I created a 12-week program designed to help any student master high school physics.
Take Sami, for example. He was in Physics 11, spending hours on homework and getting nowhere. His mom found my program after months of searching, and within weeks Sami’s grades improved — while his study time went down. By the end of the course, he was confident, capable, and actually enjoying class.
How It Works
The program is built around small-group Zoom sessions (5–7 students) covering the five core introductory topics in physics. But I don’t just teach concepts — I teach how to think and study like a physicist.
Your child will learn:
How to make a clear plan for tests
How to set up a focused study environment
How to tackle complex problems with confidence
What’s Included
To support learning, every student gets:
Weekly homework assignments with personalized feedback
Five concept tests to track progress
Access to a weekly Q&A session
Access to a weekly guided study session
The opportunity for a UBC/SFU physics field trip
The result? A student who understands the material, feels confident in class, and can actually enjoy learning physics.

I believe that this program is the best way for your child to learn high school level physics. If you are not 100% satisfied with the program I will refund your money with no questions asked.
FAQs
-
This program is appropriate for students who are planning to take a high school Physics course. This program will lay all the necessary foundations.
This program is also appropriate for a student currently taking a physics course. In this case the program acts as a support and a supplement to help students master the concepts.
-
In this program your child will be part of a small group of 5-7 students that acts as a learning cohort. That being said, personalized feedback is essential to learning. There will be weekly home works that give me the opportunity to see how students are grappling with the material and to give feedback.
-
Absolutely. One of the pillars of my learning philosophy is practice. In addition to two lectures a week I will give 1-2 hours of homework a week. In order for any student to gain mastery of any STEM subject private practice is a must. My homework assignments are opportunities for students to practice the concepts learned in class.

The Mastering Physics program is based off the BC Physics 11 curriculum, but is designed to help students learn to think . This course will cover kinematics, dynamics (forces), energy, waves and circuits. Different jurisdictions cover the physics topics in different orders, but these five topics are the most foundational. For example, if your student is taking an AP Physics class, this program will teach about half of the topics, as well as giving the skills for your child to access at learning physics.
. -
Definitely. This program is designed to improve your child’s grade. It will cover the topics in Physics giving students clear understand and the opportunity to practice. Further, it will give students an understanding of how to study physics, which is not understood by many students.

The key tool for understanding Physics is math. If your child has completed grade 10 math then they are definitely ready for physics. Also, if they have completed a grade 9 math course and are strong then this course will be fine.
